The IPHC Merit Scholarship offers financial assistance to students pursuing higher education at universities, technical colleges, or other post-secondary institutions. The scholarship, valued at US $4000 per year, is typically awarded every two years, with a single new scholarship available for the Fall of 2024.

Value: Each scholarship is valued at US $4000 per year and is renewable annually for up to four years, contingent upon the maintenance of satisfactory academic performance.
Eligibility Criteria: Eligible candidates should demonstrate academic excellence, career goals, and a strong commitment to the Pacific halibut industry.
Application Process: Interested candidates are required to submit a comprehensive application package, including academic transcripts, a statement of career goals, three letters of recommendation, and any other relevant documents as outlined in the application guidelines.
Selection Process: A selection panel comprising industry professionals and representatives from the International Pacific Halibut Commission will review applications and select recipient based on academic qualifications, career aspirations, and their relationship to the Pacific halibut industry.
Deadline: The deadline for submitting applications for the 2024 scholarship cycle is 15 June 2024.
